Our Story

Unsere Geschichte

The arrival in Vila Real and the beginning of the church

After eleven years of missionary service in India, Pastor José Carlos Felipe arrived in Portugal in 2017, feeling led by God to serve in Vila Real.

On arriving in the city, he found a small congregation going through a period without spiritual leadership. During a rehearsal, he met the brothers and sisters and began drawing close to that community.

Pastor Felipe was invited to care for that church, which at the time gathered fewer than ten people. This began a new chapter of growth, pastoral care and service to families.

The beginning in Vila Pouca de Aguiar

In 2022, Mission Eufrisia began ministry in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, taking the first steps towards forming a new local community.

From a human perspective there were no guarantees. There was no prepared group or established structure. There was only the conviction that God was opening a new way.

At the first official service, several people joined the new community. Many remain today, making visible an answer to prayers offered in that place.

The new Mission Eufrisia headquarters

In 2023, the home church moved into Mission Eufrisia's new permanent premises in Vila Real.

This church building is the permanent home the community is purchasing through the contributions, generosity and commitment of its members.

More than a physical space, the headquarters has become a base for worship, care for families, training and missionary sending.

New ministries in the United Kingdom and Germany

In 2025, Mission Eufrisia began ministries in the United Kingdom and Germany, with work in London and Geilenkirchen.

Across different cities, languages and contexts, local communities began to form, connected by the same faith and purpose.

This step continued a story marked by a willingness to go, serve and establish communities able to live the Gospel where God plants them.
